OUR SCHOOL CURRICULUM
The CAPS curriculum is followed at Empro Academy and is the guideline when assessing our students. Our language of learning and teaching is English with Afrikaans as our first additional language. In addition to these languages, we also teach isiZulu and French as second additional languages. Mathematics is considered important and for this reason we teach Singapore Mathematics in conjunction with the CAPS mathematics curriculum.
Programme
Grade R-3
Foundation phase students (Grade R-3) start school at 07:50 and come out at 13:20. The day starts with a registration period after which the first lesson commence. Two breaks are fitted in during the day so time is given for students to have a snack and lunch. Students are encouraged to learn through play and therefor physical activities are also fitted into their program for the day.
Grades 4-9
Grades 4-9 also start school at 07:50 and come out at 14:00 when sport and cultural events are then practiced.
Empro Academy is proud of our 100% matric pass rate for the past 10 years.
Our students compete in the annual math Olympiad where students across the country match up their math skills. Empro participates every year and is proud to have received a silver certificate in the South African Mathematical Challenge.
